Why are we called OPMs?

The initials stand for Old Plymothians and Mannameadians who are are past pupils of today's Plymouth and Mannamead College, more usually known as Plymouth College a private, independent, co-educational, day and boarding school - that came about by the amalgamation of Plymouth's two premier schools, Mannamead School (1854) and Plymouth College (1877) in 1896. Our alumni can be found all over the world and include many illustrious names.

The OPM Club, is a paid up members' association of past pupils, set up to service those members and is well-known in the South West for its sporting sections. Those sections are open to non - OPM's and their annual registration fee to that particular section makes them an Associate Member of the main OPM club for that year.

After many years with no permanent home, in 2004 we moved into new, purpose built premises situated within the grounds of Plymouth College and are now able to offer members, both locally based and passing through, somewhere to meet other OPM's over a pint as well as having a venue to hold regular social events.
